Happy Veteran's Day

As a Veteran owned business, we salute and thank U.S. Veterans, past and present, for their service to our country. This includes the more than 300 SERVPRO employees who wore a uniform before working under the orange roof.
At the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918, the armistice with Germany went into effect, ending the first world war. At the time, this was not called World War I, but was known as The Great War or the “war to end all wars". We now know that this was not the war to end all wars, as just 21 years later the world found itself involved in a second world war.
Starting in 1919, November 11 was a day dedicated to honoring those who had died in The Great War. In 1938, this day was noted as “Armistice Day” became a legal holiday. In1945, a World War II veteran named Raymond Weeks had the idea to expand Armistice Day to celebrate all veterans, not just those who died in World War 1. It was In 1954, that President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed a bill into law officially changing the name of Armistice Day to Veterans Day.
Founded by veterans, and having hundreds of veteran franchise owners, thousands of veteran employees, and tens of thousands of veteran customers and clients, SERVPRO has a long history of supporting and serving veterans. As we all go about our own very honorable work of helping those who have been traumatized by fire or water, please remember to take a moment on November 11, and honor those who have served in our nation’s military.
